What's your impression of the Kona? I have the acoustic/electric version, cheap, but sounds pretty good.

with a set of elixirs and some lemon oil on the neck it plays better than the low-midrange fenders and ibanez i've played

Nice array indeed! The bassist in my band plays a '74 Kramer bass with that super nice aluminum headstock - sounds amazing! He's a righty, but his dad bought it new in '74.

You're right - I just took his word for it... Looking at www.vintagekramer.com/alum.htm , I would say he has a '77-'79 350 due to the single pickup config he has. Plus, according to vintage Kramer, "The first pickups were chrome covered with "Kramer" etched in the covers and pickup height was adjusted from the back of the guitar" which is true of his... Would you agree?

it had high action when i got it but i took some glue out of the neck pocket and now it plays like nothing else, the original dimarzio dual sound pickups shred and can emulate quite a few notable guitar players sounds.

the chrome covered kramer pickups were only manufactured from 77-79, but they still had some left over and so it could even be made as late as 80, its just not as common because the dmz's were more popular by that time and so nobody bought the g's
