Started this on Wednesday evening and just finished it.

Brought this Strat back from the dead.

GFS has Strat-style necks in stock pre-slotted for locking nuts for like 50 bucks, so I bought one. Everything else was lying around.

V8 is from MIJ RG470, Super 5 is from RS135, neck is a GFS Gold Foil.

Bridge is MIJ Jackson Takeuchi from a Stealth, nut is Takeuchi R4, tuners are Gotoh locking.

Electronics are master volume, EMG Afterburner, arcade button killswitch, phase switch for middle pickup, coil tap for bridge, and bridge/neck switch.

Neck profile is soft C, like MIJ Strat soft, medium frets.

I'm pretty happy with it considering it was almost entirely consisting of stuff in my garage.

    Picked this up locally today.

It's a Warmoth build, made in '93. Ash body in LPB, birdseye maple neck, ebony board with abalone dots, medium frets, OG Floyd Rose, Schaller tuners, Chandler pickguard with EMG SA pickups.

Body is beat to hell, the thing was strung righty even with the lefty nut, there was a big sticker on the body at some point which left a ton of residue and the residue is rock solid now, I can't wipe it off, I even tried brake cleaner and a heat gun when Ronsonol and Goo Gone didn't work. Fretboard was grimy as fuck, honestly the whole guitar was, and just wiping the thing down took me about 2 hours. Guy I bought it off of didn't even play it, just bought it off a dude and then hung it on his wall. Expiration date on the 9v battery was 2014, so I assume it was last played around 2012. Neck has some chips in the nitro, so I took some Scotchbrite to it to try and smooth it out. You guys know I'm not a fan of gold hardware, but I'm not going to fork out the time and money to restore this thing. I LOVE the neck so I'll keep it around for a while and flip sometime in a few months.

Also while I was uploading the pic to Imgur I figured I'd post an updated picture of the Carvin, I've purchased so many aftermarket car parts in the last 2 years that the stickerbombing has finally filled out the body. Someday I will get it refinished, but for now I'm satisfied with it.

Man that's a really nice neck to be stuck on a beater / wall display guitar lol. Nice find.

Yeah I can tell from the build this was finished in house at Warmoth back in '93, so someone filled out the order form and paid good money for this guitar, only to have someone flip it righty later and beat the hell out of it, only for another righty to not play it.

You have some cool guitars generally not into stickered guitars even though I have a decent sticker collection but you did a great job on that Carvin. And that Warmoth what a ripper sad to see it got the shit bashed out of it some guys are brutal. Would love that with a full size EMG in the bridge. Forgot to add gold hardware sucks balls but I could live with it.
