    Still no video.

Picked this snakehead up from my boy James and threw the infamous Allparts neck on it.

Currently has the stock hardware and electronics, threw in an American Standard Tele pickup, but this body is going to see some SERIOUS changes over the next few months. Shit is gonna get real.

Haha! Nice! That neck looks KILLER on that man! Can’t wait to see the changes!!
Mustaine: He's brilliant; I love him. But then you see some guy like Bucketheadů Buckethead is probably twice as good a guitar player as me and Slash combined, and can stand having fried chicken rubbed up against his face all night for a couple of hours.

Yeah, I really like that color, and the Maple fretboard is a perfect match.

    Version 2.0

Installed a Wilde Pickups L45S, routed the cavity for a strat pickup and got one of those humbucker to single coil mounting rings. Installed an American Fender hardtail bridge with Tusq saddles, wired up a 500k pot and a Switchcraft jack. Wanted to wire up a coil splitter, but the pickups are only 3-conductor so that wasn't happening.

This is not it's final form, but it's def on-stage playable now.

In late 2013, I had a fantastic quarter work-wise and made a hefty chunk of money. There were several ideas in my head about what to do with this income. In hindsight, I should have bought a damn house, but instead I rented a nicer place, assuming this was the beginning of a trend income-wise. Either way, part of these funds went towards trying to launch a guitar company, stemming from the success of PureSalem. Obviously this didn't work out, and to be honest, it hasn't even quashed my ambitions of reattempting. I made a bulk run of 8 Tokai Hummingbird bodies, necks, and pickguards from Eastwood, and intended on allowing the future owners of these guitars to pick and choose anything they wanted except basically the bodies and necks. Unfortunately, this freedom was never utilized, and I wound up just assembling all 7 of the ones I planned on selling from the highest-quality unused parts I could afford.

My build was always going to be saved for last, and the plan was to route it for a Floyd and load the pickguard with Gelvin VIP pickups. I'm still waiting on those VIP's after 3 years of health and financial problems on his end, so I decided to finish the build like this for now:

Wilde Pickups L-500XL, OFR, arcade killswitch, coil tap switch, single Alpha B500k volume, Switchcraft jack, and Mighty Mite keystone tuners with built-in peg winders.

I don't regret any of this.

IMO if you're planning on reattempting, you should go with a more traditional style build to start. I just don't see a lot of Hummingbirds around, so I assume the market for them is exceptionally small.

The reason I decided on the Hummingbird is specifically because more people asked if I'd be interested in selling mine far more than any other guitar I've owned, ever. I figured if that many people are asking then it must be in demand. Personally I think "traditional" would be harder to sell due to the market for Strats, Teles, SG's, Les Pauls, and now just recently Explorers and even RD's being as they are. My next run will likely be another offset like an RD, non-reverse Firebird, or Jaguar-like guitar.

My plan is to eventually actually design my own stuff, but that's far more costly than this was, and this whole endeavor cost me about 10k.
