    Default Guitar picks!!

I've been on a real guitar pick kick lately! Buying and trying a lot of different brands. I've been a Jazz III person for many years now but you always wonder what else is out there. So I did a quick video going over the picks Ive been experimenting with. Brands include Gravity Picks, ChickenPicks, Ernie Ball, Hawk Picks, Dava Picks, Jim Dunlop, and Swiss Picks. Would love to hear some feedback on what you guys use.

Would also love if any of you subscribed to the channel. I plan on giving away the Gravity picks, Chickenpicks, Hawk Picks and Dava Picks at certain milestones on the channel.

The first pick I used were the confetti Fender mediums, then Fender Heavy, then I started using those round triangular Fender picks because they were basically 3 picks in 1, then the pointed triangle ones. Then I found a Gator Grip .96 on the ground at Guitar Center and liked it, so I started using the 1.14 Gator Grip for many years, then switched back to the .96, then I got a few Star Picks that came with Cleartone strings I was installing on clients' guitars and liked those so I bought 1.0 Star Picks. Eventually I switched back to the .96 Gator Grip and that's what I'm currently using.

Jim Dunlop Gels, extra-heavy. I love them!

Maybe it is just because I have used them for so long they feel like scond-nature. I don't even remember the first time I tried them or why. I probably just needed some picks. But, I haven't used anything since. I just love how they feel. They are like racing slicks.

And extra-heavy is almost a must. I can make do with heavy picks, but anything less than that just gets pushed around by the strings instead of telling the strings what to do. Thin picks sound great if you are strumming some Jack Johnson chords, but don't cut it for furious intensity.

    LOL @ Metalchurch. So true!

80's were Tortex .88mm (the green ones)
90's and 00's were Jazz III's (Petrucci influence there)
Nowadays using Tortex 1.0mm since I started doing more of a closed grip and the Jazz III was messing with me (or my patience is just gone. lol)

Still on green tortex, but did pick up some Petruccis and they're nice to use every once in a while
