Callahan or Super Vee.
I have a mim fender strat I’ve been trying to upgrade a little at a time. What upgraded tremolo bridge would y’all recommend? So far I’ve installed graph tech nut, locking tuners, and refret with SS frets. I made a dumb mistake when refretting- when all the frets were removed I blew out the slots with compressed air causing parts of the fret board to splinter away. Anyway I got all that back together and really like the way it plays. First set of locking tuners and I love them.
This probably sounds dumb but I really like the deluxe/elite bridge just because of the pop-in arm, but read online it wouldn’t work on a Mexican body.
I dunno, is the bridge even worth upgrading? I don’t really have anything to compare it with and enjoy tinkering with the guitar.
If it's got a full size block, IMO it's not worth upgrading, because it should work fine. If you want more control of the arm tension they make little springs you can drop into the arm hole that help.
I will say, though, that if you like the buttery-ness of a PRS trem, Mannmade makes a MIM drop in replacement. I may wind up trying one out at some point because I love the PRS trems.
Thanks for the suggestions. I went ahead and ordered a Callaham lefty Mexican standard bridge. I’ll let y’all know how I like it. Thanks
Your ability to seamlessly drop a replacement bridge on a lefty MIM Strat depends on the year said Strat was made. If yours is an old model, chances are the holes drilled on the guitar won't match your new bridge.
