    Default NGD: Four new additions!

Not really NGD, but I've been a bit busy so I'm playing catch up. Here are three new axes I've acquired over the last year or so.

2002 Paul Reed Smith Custom 22.

    1976 Ibanez Les Paul Custom

    1984 Gibson Les Paul Custom

Wow, I love that Ibanez. If you ever move that, give me a holler, it would go well with my Ibanez strat.

The color on that PRS is awesome too.

Thanks brother! I'm not sure that Ibanez is going to go anywhere soon, but I know who to contact

I actually found the body and neck on craigslist. It was literally just the body, neck, the neck plate and the back plates. I ended up finding the stock tuners and bridge parts on eBay that supposedly came from a '76 as well. The clear coat was all scratched up, so I ended up sanding back and bringing it back up to a gloss - as much as possible. The bridge pickup is a gold Seymour Duncan SH-6 and in the neck it's a GFS Crunchy PAT - which surprisingly is an awesome pickup.

Here's some pics when I first found it.

Wow, that's really impressive. Looks like it was a lot of work.

I never played a PRS. How do you like it. TH\hat's a 25" scale, right?

It wasn't too bad, but I was much more nervous about burning through the clear coat. I decided to start at 3k grit, go with 5k after and then proceed to use Liquid-Ice to buff.

I love it so far. It has Dragon II pickups which by themselves sound good, but once they're in a mix or a live setting they really take off. Very versatile set of pick-ups. It is a 25.5 scale and the neck profile is thin/wide. Super low action and it plays like butter.
