I can't remember if I preferred the Heavy Metal or Metal Zone back in the day

I was all in on the Metal Zone in 2002. That and the one DigiTech floor unit with the purple pedals lol. Tone for DAAAAYS. (Sarcasm)

Truthfully I probably could have done something decent with them. I couldn't dial in a tone to save my life back then.

Im still using a MT-2 (since 2002, maybe I got your old one hahaha) The high end is too fizzy so I dial it back to about 1'o clock and use my Engl tube preamp and 15band rack EQ to dial it in from there... Im using the MT-2 into the clean side of the Engl.

The parametric mids are my fav part and really why I stuck with it. The low end is massive so I also dial it back to about the same as the highs.

A BOSS Death Metal? I haven't heard of that. I have a DigiTech Death Metal. It was the highest-gain pedal in a series of low-end analog overdrive/distortion pedals they made back around 2000.

The trick is to plug it in to the effects loop.

Yeah, the mid control is a home run.

No its not Boss but it does go well with that family of pedals.. I had the original DOD Death Metal and then the Digitech after they bought them out.
